The Miracle Of Bonasan

In this news conference held in Charsoo Cinema Complex for the Miracle of Bonasan, the Genie, Habib Ahmadzadeh (director) and Parviz Parastouei (actor) of the movie described it as a piece in praise of peace which was created to appreciate all the efforts of Dr. Shizuko Tsuya who has assisted Iranian victims of chemical weapons. “Sometimes, you feel you need to thank one another by creating something, whether it is a story, a drawing or a movie. This movie is my appreciation for Dr. Tsuya” said Ahmadzadeh. He continued: “This genre was not our original idea, but when we shared our idea of a movie with her, she accepted under the condition that the movie should not be a documentary, she should not be the sole character and it should be inspirational for peace.”

Mahmoud Bonakdarnia who plays the role of the genie explained the name Bonasan: “When I was a student in Japan, my last name was difficult for the Japanese to pronounce, so they called me Bonasan [san is an endearment word in Japanese] and that has been my Japanese name for decades.”

Dr. Tsuya who attended the event online said that “I believe everybody who sees someone in need, should help them and that is what I did for the Iranian victims of chemical weapons. My life transformed at one point as it happens for many people and now, I hope to help many more.”

Parastouei shared his thoughts on the movie and said that attending the 6^th of August memorial ceremony in Hiroshima was interesting since it is a gathering of thousands of people passionate in peace, yet most of them do not know about Sardasht or Halabja; And that is the reason behind establishing Iran – Hiroshima Peace and Friendship Film Festival.
