Parviz Parastouei
Actor
Born in June 24, 1955 in
Chaloo village (Iran), Parviz Parastouei is a prominent Iranian actor who plays
the role of himself in the Miracle of Bonasan.
His family moved to Tehran when he was three years old. He learned acting
in plays in NaziAbad welfare center, and for years he worked as a court secretary
in his day job beside his artistic life. Parastouei started his art life in
1969 when he joined Bahram Beyzai team and as a teenager, he acted in plays
such as The Story of a Neighborhood. He later joined Behzad Farahani and
the Kouch team and acted in other plays.
Parastouei’s first cinema appearance was in 1983 in Land of Lovers for
which he was awarded with Crystal Simorgh of Best Supporting Actor in Fajr
International Film Festival1. Playing the role of Haj Kazem in The Glass
Agency in 1997 was a milestone for him which brought him several awards such
as the Crystal Simorgh Best Actor in Fajr International Film Festival and Best
Actor Award in Yugoslavia Film Festival. He has appeared in numerous other
movies including The Bodyguard, The Lizard, Reward of Silence, The Willow Tree,
Duel, The Red Ribbon, The Changed Man, Motherly Love, The Snowman, Water and
Fire and Café Transit. He has also appeared in three successful TV
series titled The Chef, Under the Pillory and The Red Soil.
He recently played roles in The Accomplice and Those series aired
in Iranian streaming services.
Beside playing in cinema and theater, Parastouei is active in music too. He
has narration albums such as Daddy and other albums such as I’m an Actor
and I’m Parviz Parastouei2. He also voice acts for
audio books, documentaries and animations.
Parastouei has been awarded with or has been nominated for many awards. He
holds a record among Iranian actors with 4 Crystal Simorghs from Fajr
