Noriyuki Asakura

Born February 11, 1954, Asakura Noriyuki is a prominent Japanese composer and vocalist. He has composed the soundtrack of the Miracle of Bonasan and he also plays the role of himself in this movie.

Asakura composed his first track when he was still a student and entered the world of music industry in 1982. He is well known for combining traditional Japanese music with elements of rock, jazz, and other world music such as China, Thailand and Turkey. He established his music company Mega-Alpha in 2003 to compose music for television programs, anime, and video games and through that, he composed for multiple important movies and games. Asakura is best known for composing the soundtracks to the anime series Rurouni Kenshin and the video game franchises Tenchu and Way of the Samurai.
